Nina

I had the honor of doing my beautiful, wonderful friend Nina’s makeup. Yay, Lucky me. It’s always exciting to try and see what you can do with other facial features and colours than your own. Nina normally doesn’t wear a lot of makeup, so I tried to give her a festive yet natural look. I used purple shades, but they turned out pretty mauve – which in my opinion is great.

Korres Hand Cream Review

Okay okay… I know it’s been quite a while. I guess I needed some vacation from the blog as well. I’ve recently started my fifth semester at the university, so I guess I should start doing everything else I used to do before the summer holidays again. A good while back I bought this hand cream, but I’m a person who does not like to open new things if I have something of the same kind opened already. So I waited and waited. And now, I’ve finally had the chance to really try this out. I present to you (if you do not already know it): KORRES Nourishing hand cream with organic almond oil and shea butter.

This is, if I dare say so, one of the (if not THE) best had cream I’ve had the pleasure of trying. I don’t know if I’ve just had really shitty hand creams up until now, but this really is a miracle-worker for me. As you might have noticed from the name, this cream is stuffed with moisturizing ingredients (f.ex. shea butter, almond oil, aloe vera, provitamin B5, glycerin, beeswax, jojoba seed oil), and they do really work. I have tried other hand lotions or creams with the same ingredients, but for some reason they just did not do as good a job as this one. Maybe they put less of all the beneficiary thing in it, I don’t know. All I know is that I will recommend this to anyone who has dry hands. I’m not sure if it’s too greasy if you don’t deal with dry hands, but for me this formula was absorbed really fast and didn’t leave my hands sticky. It also smells lovely, and this has been fabulous even though my hands don’t get THAT dry during the summer. A total life-saver if you ask me.

I have been on a hand cream binge lately, so I have plenty stocked up for when I’m out of this one. Of course I’ll give them a try, but I am a little concerned that I should have spent my money on more of this instead ;). Ah, but I do like trying out new products soooo.

Once again I recommend you follow me on Instagram here as well – I do post there more often.

I’ll have you know this makeup looks pretty grey. Actually what seems grey here was actually more of a navy kind of blue, sorry the camera couldn’t get that in the photo.

At last I will remind you of my Instagram where I put up a lot more looks than here. Visit and follow here !

Stila Smudge Pot: Bronze

Hey! Here’s a quick post. I just wanted to show you how beautiful and managable my eye liner has become after i tried the eye-drops-trick on it. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, see my post from yesterday here.
I was so excited to try it out today. It has become even softer than it was when I bought, but in a really good way, since it’a always been a little hard/dry.
Definitely worth buying the eye drops if you have dried out gel liners.

Test: Do eye drops help dried out gel liners?

Hello you all!
A while back I found out that two of my most cared for gel liners were all dried out. It was pretty much impossible to do anything to make them look good on you. And then I started reading about how eye drops (saline solution) are able to help get the creamy texture back.

DSC_0001 DSC_0002

So today I bought some eye drops and decided to try it out. I put four drops in each, put the lid back on and waited for 10 minutes. I also put some into my open mascaras as it is supposed to help with dried out mascaras too (but I haven’t checked the results of that yet!). After 10 minutes miracles started happening with the black liner (which is from Inglot by the way). I cut the cotton off a q-tip and whirled it around and it was back! Yay! The bronze one (from Stila) took about double as many drops for it to be good, but it still worked.

I’m so excited to see if the opaqueness and longevity is still the same as before they dried out, and i really cross my fingers! But from what I can tell this works.

Elita’s makeup

Hello!

I had the pleasure of doing another friend’s makeup last week. This look was a little more natural than the makeup I did on Caroline. I always find it exciting to do friends’ makeup, since it’s a little more challenging to try a face you’re not used to. You get to try different techniques and styles. Elita was the one to be put through my makeup machinery this time. She’s a lovely girl from my study. She’s from the Faroe Islands, hence the blonde hair, fair skin and gorgeous blue eyes. Quite the opposite from me (except from the light skin).

NEW IN! Bobbi to go: Classic eye palette

Yayy, I received this yesterday and I’m already loving this palette without having tried out all the colours “in action” yet!  The Palette contains of 8 shades, 5 of which are matte, 2 shimmer and 1 glitter. The colours are gorgeous, oand if you know Bobbi Brown makeup, you know it’s good quality! Its a small palette, and it’s easy to bring with you everywhere, whenever – I’m guessing that’s the reason for the “On the go”.

IMG_0085There’s a little makeup brush with the palette too. The bristles are really soft, but I personally would only use it on the go, since I have better fitted brushes at home.

IMG_0086

The shades are swatched top row first, then bottom. Both from left to right. In the photo to the left it starts from the bottom and up (if you hadn’t realized it yourself). I can’t wait to have some more fun with this palette! All the shades have really good colour payoff (even the glittery one. I have tried glitter ones before that took a lot of work if you wanted a close to opaque coverage). The texture is really smooth, it colours come on evenly and they blend really well. Yay! The only bad thing I have to say about this is actually the size (which at the same time is a good thing), because I’m afraid I’ll run out of these gorgeous eye shadows too soon!

Summer and eyebrows

IMG_0078

Hey! I wanted to give you another update. This weekend I actually had time to go out and celebrate my finals almost being over. My study had arranged a nice summer party, where everybody brings food and have fun in the midst of all of the exam-panic. I brought a nectarine and brie salad, as it turns out, it is really delicious! Lately I have noticed how different my brows are. it bothers me when I look at it in photos, but I don’t see it when I just look in the mirror. I think I have to invest in some brow wax. Any good suggestions?

Mid-finals post: Hair care haul

Oh how I’ve missed blogging! I can’t wait for the holidays to begin. By then I’ll have more time! Yay! Right now I’m preparing for my next final’s test, it’s this friday, but I couldn’t help myself, I had to show you my recent hair care haul from Nicehair. Here are pictures of all the things I’ve bought. Hopefully I’ll get time to tell you about every single thing in not too long. Until then, feel free to ask me what the products are (if you can’t see it in the photos) or what my experience has been with them so far.
